Students should create a one or two paragraph response which incorporates relevant and convincing examples from the text (or the video) to support their opinion.

1. Attendance, Announcements - FYI - Mrs. Clay is in the building today at an English Department inservice.
2. NoRedInk - Students will log in to NoRedInk website to complete two assignments on pronoun usage and agreement. Students will read tutorials and review answers to each question for accurate rules and explanations.
3. Vocabulary - After reading and listening to each word used in context, students will predict the meaning of advanced vocabulary in today's reading selection. I will confirm the correct meanings of each word. For homework, students will complete reverse side of vocabulary page which requires students to use context clues to fill in the blanks with the correct vocabulary word.
4. "Blind to Failure" - Students will read and listen to audio recording of non-fiction selection entitled "Blind to Failure." Students will use the remainder of the block to complete the text analysis page, the reading check, and the question support. If students finish, they may turn in completed pages; otherwise, they should finish for homework.
Homework: Complete the back of the vocabulary handout. You will have an open-notes quiz next block on "Blind to Failure." Be sure to complete all questions.
