2. Students will choose NEW SEATS.
3. Four Corner Cards: best gift you gave or received, 2015 resolution, what you wish you did more (or less) of over break, three words to describe your vacation
4. Writing Assignment - Quotation Analysis #1 - Students will follow steps for writing assignment on their own paper. After brainstorming (in a group) ways to complete the blanks in the quotation and confirming the speaker's actual words, students (independently) will write a paragraph of what the quotation means and how the statement applies to their lives.
5. Using classroom computers, students will type their handwritten responses.
6. Students will self-assess their writing given six checkpoints. Students will revise their own writing for homework.
Homework: Revise and complete final draft for Quotation Analysis #1. 3. NoRedInk - Students will log in and continue taking the pretests for grammar, usage, and mechanics. Review questions and correct answers at the end of each pretest. Share with me any category in which you score a green or blue dot.
4. After reviewing the rules and examples on page 557 in the Write Source textbook, students will complete page 167 in the Write Source SkillsBook.
5. I will share examples of introductory sentences, concluding sentences, complex sentences, transitional words and phrases, and advanced vocabulary from student work turned in earlier in the block.
