Students will present their lessons on Thursday, October 3rd.
5. Journalism I students will review important interview basics - rules, hints, and examples. Students will work in small groups to create a list of 20+ appropriate, newsworthy questions (open-ended, not yes/no) which they believe would be good interview questions for any one of the following people at Landstown: Dr. Matney, Mr. Siock, Mrs. Bluestein, one of the assistant principals, or one of the security assistants. Each group will turn in one paper with all contributing names listed.
6. Independent Work - students may work on their current events assignment or their article for the October issue.
Homework: Continue working on your newspaper assignment (photographs, interview questions, research, lead, draft, etc...) for the first issue of The Talon.

1. Welcome, Attendance - Remind 101 for 2A, Newspaper Staff Picture
2. All students will complete their article planning sheet for interview questions at the beginning of the block.
3. Effective Interview Practice - Journalism I students will be paired for personal interviews. Each partner will interview the other with 5 interesting, open-ended questions. Given that information, each partner will write a short bio to present to the class. Included in that bio should be the answers to the posed questions with at least one response in quotation format. During the next class, partners will help edit and revise prior to publishing. Students will present bios to the class in blog format on our class website.
4. Journalism II/III students will share lesson plans, reference sheets, and plans for interactive activity prior to their presentation. Each student will in turn present his/her lesson to the Journalism I students. Journalism II/III students will evaluate one another's presentations on writing news articles, feature articles, sports articles, review articles, and editorials.
