3. Reliable Sources vs. Unreliable Sources
4. Review expectations of Meeting of the Minds assignment along with creative ways to respond to questions (quotes, questions, historical details)
5. Considering all of the civil rights literature we have studied, students will track the overarching theme: when people are faced with injustice, they have the right and the duty to resist. Students will research using laptop computers and BYOD. Students are encouraged to use the folder on the Destiny Homepage which the librarians created with useful information.
Homework: Finish working on research and responses for the Meeting of the Minds roundtable discussion on Thursday, February 5th.

2. NoRedInk Status - Students will review progress so far on pretests, assignments, and quizzes. Any incomplete activities should be completed by Monday.
3. Review expectations of Meeting of the Minds assignment along with creative ways to respond to questions (quotes, questions, historical details)
4. Meeting of the Minds - Using prepared notes, students will engage in a conversation with prominent civil rights advocates. 14 students will participate in a 20-minute discussion in the inner circle while the remaining students will actively listen and take notes in the outer circle. Then students will switch roles. All students will turn in prepared responses and notes at the conclusion of the activity.
Homework: Finish NoRedInk assignments and quizzes before class on Monday.

2. NoRedInk - Students will login to the NoRedInk website to complete two assignments on pronoun usage and agreement. Students will read tutorials and review answers to each question for accurate rules and explanations.
3. Anticipation Guide for Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer - Students will complete anticipation guide individually, compare in small groups, and then discuss their reactions with the class.
4. Into the Wild - After students sign for novel copies on attendance sheet, they will listen to an audio recording of the Author's Note, Chapter 1, and Chapter 2.
5. If time, visit www.christophermccandless.info website to absorb more information and background for the story, especially how Jon Krakauer acquired information for the book.
Homework: Finish Into the Wild study guide for the opening chapters if it is incomplete. Be ready for open notes quiz.
